Zicom Electronics Security Systems plans to open 180 exclusive retail outlets in India over the next 30 months, and is also eying sales in the Middle East countries, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, a top company executive said on Wednesday.
Zicom currently has 20 outlets in India and 50 shop-in-shops in big stores and malls, Zicom CEO Santonu Choudhury told PTI in Bangalore.
"We want to open another 20 outlets and 250 shop-in-shops by March-end," Choudhury said, adding, "We aim to increase it to 200 retail outlets and 800 shop-in-shops by 2009-10."
Growing awareness on the security products, rising crime graph and people's
want to have better security systems at home, are driving demand, he said.
Choudhury said the company, which has a factory in China, has already started operations in Hong Kong and Dubai.
About the company's overseas plans he said, "Now we are looking at Middle East countries, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. We will start with distribution network in these countries and then get into the outlet mode."
Zicom will soon launch more models of the existing security system products and also come out with a 'premium range,' he said, adding that next month the company plans to come out with personal range of security products that can be used by individuals.
