Jessie Paul hand picked by Phaneesh Murthy to head the marketing department at iGATE Global Solutions is set to join bigger rival Wipro.
Paul who was one of the rash of top-level people Murthy poached from Infosys, when he was asked to leave over sexual harassment charges, is slated to join Wipro Technologies as its marketing head in the first week of June.
Wipro's erstwhile strategic marketing head, Sangita Singh, has moved on to head another business division focussed on enterprise applications in Wipro Technologies.
Paul like her predecessor may report directly to Vivek Paul, Wipro's vice chairman and the man credited with building Wipro into the software powerhouse it is today.
Paul joined iGATE Global two years back. Prior to joining iGATE Global Solutions she was the global brand manager for Infosys.
According to information available on the iGATE website, she was involved in setting up the marketing department at Infosys, and putting in place the marketing infrastructure and processes. Her efforts in this area earned her the Chairman's Award in 1998.
She anchored the Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award, which was the recipient of the US-based IT Services Marketing Association's Diamond Award in 2002.
Prior to joining Infosys, Jessie worked with Ogilvy and Mather Advertising, part of the WPP group, and managed key service brands.
