Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, has signed a technical assistance agreement with Pakistan-based Afzal Motors to assemble its vehicles in Pakistan.

The agreement was signed by K O Chae, president of TDCV and Muhammad Ghufran, CEO of Afzal Motors.

An official release issued by TDCV said, "The assembly of TDCV vehicles in Pakistan is expected to begin by the last quarter of 2006 at the newly established plant of Afzal Motors in Karachi."

The plant will have a design capacity to produce 3,000 commercial vehicles per year on single shift basis, the statement added.
