The Euro 25 billion German software & service market offers very good opportunities for Indian companies keeping in view the software market growth by about ten per cent in Germany last year.

The recently concluded world's biggest IT show, CeBIT, was used as a springboard by major Indian software companies to showcase their strength. These companies participated in the joint India pavilion at the CeBit.

The joint India participation was organised by the National Association of Software & Services Companies, the ministry of information technology and the Indo-German Export Promotion Project.

Last year, India's software & service exports to Europe were worth Rs 6,754 crore or Rs 67.54 billion (approximately 24 per cent of the total software exports). Germany alone accounted for almost Rs 900 crore (Rs 9 billion) and is the second largest market for India after the United Kingdom.

Andhra Pradesh was the partner state at the India pavilion. The principal secretary to the government of Andhra Pradesh, J Satyanarayana was at Hannover to promote investments and attract foreign companies into their respective states.

He also addressed the Strategy and Praxis Forum, where he presented what is being done at the macro level in e-governance.

The Indian exhibitors Hexaware Technologies, Nucleus Software, B2B Software, among others offered a broad range of services. Special networking events were also organised during the show.
