Get flight tickets through SBI ATMs

State Bank of India and Kingfisher Airlines on Monday launched a e-ticketing initiative for air travellers. SBI cardholders travelling by Kingfisher Airlines can now pay for their e-tickets via ATM machines.

Financial Software and Systems has enabled this facility through its FSSNet Payment systems infrastructure.

 Rudhraapathy, director, FSS, said, "We are pleased to partner with State Bank of India and Kingfisher Airlines for this innovative service which will allow over 17 million SBI debit cardholders to make online payments to Kingfisher Airlines on a 24/7 basis on all SBI ATMs countrywide."

At present, the facility is available for booking Kingfisher Airlines tickets in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. The facility will be rolled out to the rest of the country later.

Kingfisher Airlines has also offered a 12.5 per cent discount to SBI cardholders who make payments through their ATMs, till 31st July 2006.

The process involved is simple. The cardholder has to call at the airline call centre on 1800 1800 101, 1800 2333 131, 022- 6649 9393, 0124- 2844700, 080- 41979797 and book his ticket.

The cardholder is given a ten digit booking reference No, and the fare, which he is required to pay at the State Bank ATM within six hours. He gets a transaction slip containing details like passenger reference number and payment details from the ATM. The customer can collect his boarding pass with the transaction slip.
