Television buffs in India are in for another bout of thrills on the small screen when Reality Television starts beaming its programmes from February one.

The 24-hour channel--which combines real-life drama and close up looks at the work of emergency services--is being distributed by Zee Turner, the distribution alliance between Zee Telefilms Ltd and Turner International Zone Vision, the creators of Reality TV. This will make foray in the Asian region for the first time.

Zone Vision managing director Chris Wronski told reporters in Bangalore on Friday that Reality TV was fast catching up in Europe and had set to draw a viewership of 75 million within the next five years. In India alone, the target was about 10 million Wronski said.

The all-day beaming would be tailor made to suit the taste of Indian viewers, he said adding that his company would later produce films with Indian content later on. Negotiations were already on for the purpose.

Zee Turner chief executive officer Sunil Khanna, who was also present, said Reality TV would not seek additional cost.

Wronski said negotiations were already on to spread Reality TV across other Asian nations including China, Japan and Malaysia besides Latin American countries.
