The Boeing Company bid farewell to its 757 line of passenger jets after having built 1,050 of them.

The 1,050th 757, built for Shanghai Airlines, is the last of the series. Of the 1,050 planes built, 1,030 are still in active service. Interestingly, the 757 is the same aircraft that the 9/11 terrorists used to crash into the Pentagon.

Hundreds of Boeing workers assembled at Boeing's Renton plant to mark the end of the twin-engined 757 aircraft, which the company produced since 1981.

Now the only Boeing jetliner still built at the Renton plant is the 737.
