IBM on Wednesday announced that Pavan Vaish has been appointed as the new CEO of IBM Daksh.  As co-founder of Daksh e-Services, Pavan has played a key role in growing Daksh from a start-up in 2000 to what it is today, a leader in the industry.

The company today employs more than 20,000 employees, a growth of more than 234 per cent since June 2004. Previously Pavan served as the COO of IBM Daksh, and had been the company's acting CEO since June, 2006.

In his new role, Pavan will lead IBM Daksh's movement towards becoming a global BPO player. He will provide strategic direction to ensure that the company's successful business model attains scalability, which will help IBM Daksh expand to new geographic territories.

Prior to co-founding Daksh, Pavan was a founder member of Quadrant Infotech, an offshore data capturing business focused on the US market. A graduate of the Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Business School, Pavan holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and has completed an Undergraduate Engineering Program from the Indian Institute Technology, Kharagpur.

IBM Daksh, one of the largest providers of business process outsourcing services in India, was formed as a result of the acquisition of Daksh in April 2004 by IBM Global Services, the world's largest services organisation.
