IBM on Thursday launched its new lab, the High Performance On Demand Solutions Lab, bringing specific high-value skills to help clients in Bangalore and the surrounding region to optimise their IT resources to support the growth of their businesses.

The HiPODS Lab, the company's first such lab in India, connects IBM'S top consultants, developers, engineers and researchers in India and around the world, offering most comprehensive skills and resources available in the industry today, IBM India Software Lab vice-president Harish Grama said after announcing the opening of the lab in Bangalore.

The 15-member core team of the lab replicates client infrastructures so the team can customise solutions to get the best performance and business capabilities, he told reporters.

The lab's focus is to solve key client issues, including reducing the time needed to adapt IT infrastructures to rapidly changing business requirements; simplifying IT management and improving maintenance automation, optimizing resource utilisation and improving reliability and service delivery, he said.

"The new HiPODS lab brings unique, high value skills from throughout India to drive transformation for local businesses," IBM HiPODS Vice-President Willy Chiu said.
