E&Y inducts Suzlon chief into world entrepreneur academy

Global professional services firm Ernst and Young said on Tuesday it will induct Suzlon Energy Chairman Tulsi Tanti in its World Entrepreneur of the year Academy on June 3 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Tanti was named the Indian entrepreneur of the year in 2006 by E&Y. Entrepreneurs with exceptional achievements are inducted in the E&Ys Hall of fame Academy, E&Y said in a statement.

"Tanti truly embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship. He has built his business with immense passion; exploring un-chartered territories and has put India on the world map for renewable energy.

"He is a true flag-bearer of the Indian growth story of metamorphosing a domestic company into a global MNC," E&Y

India Country Managing Partner Rajiv Memani said in the statement.

E&Y also declared nominations for 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year Award open. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges following an independent process of nomination and selection.

The jury for 2007 awards comprises eminent individuals, including TCS CEO S Ramadorai, ICICI Bank CEO and Managing Director KV Kamath and Chryscapital Sr Managing Director Ashish Dhawan. Award categories, include infrastructure, services, lifetime achievement, manager entrepreneur and start-up entrepreneur.
