For the first time, Indian airhostess would fly on China Eastern Airlines to India, a move that would be welcomed by Indians who are increasingly travelling to China for business as well as tourism.
Some stewardesses from India will serve on the flights operated by China Eastern Airlines between Shanghai and New Delhi from May 1 to 7, company sources said.
The Shanghai-based airline company has recruited 500 foreign flight attendants from India, Japan, South Korea, France, the US, Germany and Spain since 1993, Xinhua news agency reported.
The foreign attendants have brought with them flight experiences and different cultures and folk customs, it quoted a company source as saying.
The company is still planning to recruit flight attendants from the Philippines and Russia.
As one of the three largest state-owned aviation groups, China Eastern Airlines operates more than 400 international and domestic routes.
