Hindustan Motors on Thursday launched Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia, which promises easy manoeuverability and strong road grip on the Indian roads.
"Lancer Cedia, loaded with power and aerodynamic enhancements, will be well received in the high performance compact sedan car market in India," chairman Hindustan Motors C K Birla told reporters at Auto Expo in New Delhi.
The models, priced at Rs 987,000 (for both the versions namely Lancer Cedia and Lancer Cedia Sports), are being manufactured at its Chennai plant.
"We have consciously kept ex-showroom price of Lancer Cedia at Rs 987,000 which is same throughout the country," he said.
Lancer Cedia combines superior technology and design and is a remarkable combination of speed, power and elegance, managing director of Hindustan Motors Ravi Santhanam said.
On future plans, he said, "In the next six months the company is planning to launch Montero (Sports Utility Vehicle).
"The company is also looking at launching other Mitsubishi products apart from Lancer."
Hindustan Motors is also working on an agreement with Mitsubishi to exports components from India, he said.
