Priced at Rs 39,000 (ex-showroom, Pune), the new Discover comes with alloy wheels and ExhausTEC technology, SNS suspension and Ride Control Switch.
The 112 cc Discover is an addition to the existing 125 cc Discover DTS-i.
As a strategy, Bajaj Auto intends to leverage the highly successful Discover brand. Bajaj Auto sold a total of 77,000 of the existing 125 cc Discover DTS- i in the festive months of October and November 2005.
Bajaj Auto vice president (marketing and sales- two wheelers) S Sridhar said, ''We are following global norms wherein automobile companies have multiple products under each platform.''
The production of Discover has started at Bajaj Auto's Akurdi plant and it will be available across all the dealerships by the end of December 2005.
Bajaj produces the CT100, Pulsar DTS-i, Avenger DTS-i and the Discover DTS-i motorcycles.
