Acer India on Thursday forayed into the enterprise storage solutions space, launching a range of storage products.
The company also said it was aiming at sales of Rs 38 crore (Rs 380 million) to Rs 40 crore (Rs 400 million), which translates into seven per cent of an estimated Rs 650 crore (Rs 6,500 million) Indian market, in the current calendar year.
The wholly-owned subsidiary of Acer Computer International Ltd launched storage networking infrastructure solution, Acer Storage Centre for storage virtualisation, provisioning and management targeted at SMEs and large enterprises.
The company said the entry-level storage solution would be available from Rs 10 lakh (Rs 1 million) onwards.
"Acer is providing cutting edge flexible storage solutions with several key benefits that can be customised to specific needs of customers. The solutions dramatically simplify storage management," Harish Kohli, GM-sales and marketing, Enterprise Product Group, Acer, told reporters in Bangalore.
The company officials said Acer storage solutions were based on a building block approach and could be built around SCSI or FC storage solutions, without limiting the offering of future technologies such as Serial ATA, iSCSI, or Serial SCSI.
