iGate Corporation, the integrated technology and operations company, on Thursday announced that its subsidiary iGate Global Solutions Limited has been ranked the top IT employer in India in Dataquest-IDC's 8th annual survey.

Culled from India's extensive IT industry, the top best IT employers are chosen based on 11 components of human resources and employee satisfaction. With employee strength of approximately 6,500, iGate ranked much higher in the survey than other multinationals and large companies in India's IT industry.

The DQ-IDC report states that iGate "improved its ranking to emerge as the best IT employer in India. It goes without saying that the rise did not come by accident - it does not for any company - but what is noteworthy is how fast it has managed to emerge as a preferred employer".

Last year, iGate was ranked third in the survey. This year, iGate rose to be the top employer due to a combination of employment benefit programmes, coupled with career planning initiative and home grown leadership development.

"Being ranked as the best employer in this year's DQ-IDC survey is an endorsement of our systematic approach to people management policies, practices and processes," said Srinivas Kandula, global head-human resource, iGate Global Solutions.

Phaneesh Murthy, CEO, iGate Corporation expressed his pleasure at being rated highly by Dataquest-IDC's best employer survey two years in a row.
