Green pesticide to meet Mealybug challenge

The Ahmedabad-based maxEEma Biotech has announced the launch of a herbal insecticide that effectively combats Mealybug attacks on crops.

Marketed under the brand name, Chetak, this strong herbal insecticide has proved to be effective against broad spectrum of all major sucking pests. Chetak contains botanical extracts derived from plants having proven efficacy to control insects.

Says Dr. Kandarp Bakshi, Founder Chairman & Managing Director of maxEEma Biotech, "Mealybug has caused huge damage to crops in India and apart from Gujarat we immediately intend to reach out to the markets of Punjab, Maharashtra, Haryana, West Bengal to support farmers in their fight against this deadly".

Insects and diseases cause losses of crops worth Rs.15,000 crore (Rs 150 billion) in the country every year.
