Omkeshwar Singh, Head, Rank MF, a mutual fund investment platform, answers your Mutual Fund queries:

Jayakumar: I am 45 years old and have been investing in mutual funds for the past 10 years. I started at 1000/month, planned to increase my investment to 10000/month and I achieved this target in 2017 and still i am investing in all these funds.

All these investments are as per my advisor, according to him the funds are balanced and no need to worry for another 10 years but when I review the funds some are having only 2-5% annualized return. I am confused whether to continue or shift or exit.

Kindly suggest whether to continue these SIPs / exit / stop and hold the investment mainly the poorly performing funds. Please advise me how frequently I need to review the performance of the fund and do modification in order to minimise the loss.

Anonymous: Thank you for your time and expertise.

I am a single woman in her 40s who has had large gaps in her career history. So I have a home but not much in terms of savings. I can only invest lump-sum in MFs since I may be unemployed otherwise. Can you please suggest a MF strategy and also to build a savings reserve?

Omkeshwar Singh: Dear Ma'am, would request for some more details, most important being if these Savings reserves are for Emergency requirements or to Create some reasonable corpus.
