Yesterday, we published the first part of our two-part series on correspondence MBA courses available to candidates across India. Today, we present the concluding part of our list:  

Part I: 10 distance MBA courses for you

Anna University Center For Distance Education
The CDE, in addition to a general MBA, offers specialisations in Technology, Financial Services, Retail, Health Services and Human Resources. The courses are divided in four semesters and the first two semesters have subjects common for all. The last two semesters are when the specialisations happen. Admissions to this course are on the basis of the Distance Education Entrance Test.

The vast bulk of their coordinators are based in cities in Tamil Nadu. However they have coordinators in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi [Images].

The university charges Rs 52,000 for the full course.

Pondicherry University
Besides the general MBA, Pondicherry University's Directorate of Distance Education offers specialised MBAs in Marketing, Finance, International Business and Human Resources Management. It has study centers in 35 Indian cities as well as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Kuwait.

A candidate, in order to be eligible, must have a degree from any recognised university. The fees for all four semesters, combined, are Rs 16,800.

One of the most unusual aspects of Pondicherry University is its' twinning programme'. This is basically a tie-up between the Directorate of Distance Education and Christ College, Bangalore and Loyola College, Chennai. Instead of the usual 10-day Personal Contact Programmes, students undergo classroom sessions extending upto 120. Fees for this version equal Rs 17,000 to Rs 19,000.

Tamil Nadu Open University
Yes, another University from the south. Specialisation occurs in the second year in one of six fields: Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, Insurance Management and Information Technology Management. Insurance Management is one of TNOU's unique specialisations, which few other universities provide.

In order to be eligible, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. The fees are Rs 7,500 per year for two years.

Amity School of Distance Learning
Ranked as of India's Top B-Schools, the ASDL MBA Degree provides a lot of prestige. It has tie-ups with companies like GECIS, Infosys India, LG, BPL, who rely on Amity to enable employees to pursue higher studies while working.

As in most other degrees, specialisation doesn't occur till one's second year. Amity allows you to specialise in one of the following fields: Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, International Business, Insurance, Information Technology.

In order to be eligible, a candidate must have a Graduate degree or Engineering diploma from a recognized institute and five years of work experience. The basic fee for the course is Rs 36,000, although with add-ons, the fees could rise to Rs 57,000.

Karnataka State Open University
The last institution on the list, the KSOU was set up in 1996 and offers a two-year MBA programme, consisting of 24 courses. The first year consists of subjects common to all students. The second year sees the student specialising in one of three electives: Finance, Marketing or Human Resources. The last two semesters have a mix of common and elective courses, and a project.

A candidate is eligible if he has a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. The fees total Rs 29,000.
