What: School of Energy Studies of Pune University invites applications for M.Tech. Energy Studies Programme 2008-09.

Eligibility

~ Valid GATE score card (If the student is qualified in GATE)
~ The sponsored candidates must submit the Letter of Sponsorship and No Objection Certificate from the Head / Authorized person of his parent organization at the time of interviews. It should be mentioned clearly in the letter that the fees for the course will be born by the sponsoring organization and the required full time leave will be sanctioned to the candidate.
~ The applicants should enclose the attested copies of the certificates and mark sheets of examinations (S.S.C. onwards) passed by them along with the application form. Candidates belonging to reservation categories will be required to submit a certificate from an authorised officer not below the rank of Magistrate / Tahasildar to the effect that the candidate belongs to the respective reserved category. In case the certificates / mark sheets are in a language other than English, Hindi or Marathi the English version of such documents duly attested should be enclosed. All candidates selected for admission must produce the necessary original certificates and documents for verification at the time of admission. Students who have passed their qualifying examinations from Universities outside India are required to follow the rules and procedures laid down by the International Students Centre of the University of Pune.

Admission rules

(a) 50 per cent of the total intake will be on the basis of:

~ Performance in the entrance examination
~ Per cent marks in the qualifying examination
~ Personal interview 

(b) 50 per cent will be on the basis of:
 
~ Valid GATE score
~ Per cent marks in the qualifying examination
~ Personal interview

1. The selection of the student will be either through (a) or (b). The students can opt for either (a) or (b) but not for both (a) and (b) simultaneously.

2. Two seats are reserved for the candidates sponsored by industries / academic institution involved in research, development, training, auditing or production in the areas relevant to Conventional and Non-conventional energy sources. The sponsored candidates need not appear for the entrance examinations. The admissions for sponsored candidates will be on the basis of personal interviews and their academic merits. The candidates admitted under sponsored category need to satisfy the following criteria:

(A) The sponsored candidate should be permanent employee of industry or academic institute for at least two years.

(B) The sponsored candidates must submit the Letter of Sponsorship and No Objection Certificate from the Head / Authorised person of his parent organisation at the time of interviews. It should be mentioned clearly in the letter that the fees for the course will be born by the sponsoring organisation and the required full time leave will be sanctioned to the candidate.

Fee

Open category students: Rs 400
Reserved category: Rs 300

Candidates must take DD payable to the 'Registrar University of Pune, Pune 411007' drawn on any bank in Pune. On the back side of DD student has to write 'Processing Fee' and full name, address and department name.

Application form duly filled in, along with the DD should reach in the name of 'The Director Schol of Energy Studies, University of Pune, Pune-411007' on or before 10-09-2008.
