A spell of heavy rain for nearly 45 minutes on Friday evening saw the ground covered completely in water. The England practice session was also cut short by the unseasonal shower at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.

The ground has an excellent drainage system ensuring that the water seeped out in no time, while the covers on the square protected the pitch and the 30-yard circle.
