The Indian players' accommodation problem in Nottingham, the venue for the second Test against England, has been solved to the players' satisfaction, confirmed Rocky Rufus, the team's administrative manager on the tour.
"The thing is we had some problems regarding the rooms when we went there. After we took it up with the BCCI, the matter has been sorted out," Rufus said on Thursday.
The Indian team, which arrived in Nottingham on Wednesday, was quite unhappy with the rooms provided at Crown Plaza, a five-star hotel in Nottingham.
The players said that the single rooms are not spacious enough, and with the amount of luggage they travel with, moving around it was troublesome.
But after the BCCI's intervention, the players have been moved to bigger, executive rooms.
It is learnt that after the players complained, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah spoke with the ECB and sorted out the matter.
"The issue was brought to my notice on Tuesday evening," said Shah. "I immediately took it up with the England and Wales Cricket Board."
Shah also took a broadside at the Indian cricketers stating that they travel with too heavy luggage on foreign tours.
"Our cricketers sometimes carry too much luggage. It creates its own set of problems.
"Some of our cricketers are also travelling with their spouses, which not only increases their luggage but also reduces the space in the room," he said.
