Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) secretary Aditya Verma on Monday said the Supreme Court upheld its January 22 decision that barred N Srinivasan from attending any meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), adding that they would write to the board president Shashank Manohar to take a call on Srinivasan's holding the office of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association's chief despite the court's order.

SC tells BCCI to decide on Srinivasan's conflict of interest issue

According to sources, on Monday, BCCI's new president Manohar informed the Supreme Court that it has debarred ex-president N Srinivasan from attending any meeting of the cricket board because of his 'conflict of interest'.

BCCI's counsel KK Venugopal told a bench of Justices TS Thakur and FMI Kalifulla, "Srinivasan stands disqualified from participating in the working committee meetings or any other meeting of the board as he still has commercial interest in the management of IPL T20 team Chennai Super Kings."

Earlier BCA secretary said, "The SC on Monday told the BCCI that it is an able body, and thus, should not come to the court on each and every issue. However, if anybody has any grievance against the BCCI, he can definitely come to the apex court as per law," said Verma.

The apex court said when the Justice Lodha Committee report would be out, said Verma, it would look into the final decision.

He said, "We are going to write the BCCI president to take a call on Srinivasan's continuing as the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association despite the apex court's order. As, if the BCCI can ban the Rajasthan Cricket Association in Lalit Modi's case, then it can do the same in the case of TNCA, which has made the same mistake by electing Srinivasan as the president."

Srinivasan's lawyer Kapil Sibbal informed the court on Monday that he would not be pressing his perjury application against the BCCI for allegedly giving wrong information.
