Modi accuses investigating agencies for seeking bribe

March 04, 2011 20:30 IST

IPL Commissioner on Friday accused investigating agencies of demanding bribe to "hush up" cases related to financial irregularities and foreign exchange violations against him.

In his recent comment on micro-blogging site Twitter, Modi levelled several allegations against the government and enforcement agencies for revoking his passport.

"Most corrupt Government in the history of India. If you can't get someone on your side, cancel their passport, threaten them, intimidate them," he tweeted.

"Mere allegations, investigation agencies have come up with zilch, but all asking for bribes, to hush up case, when I said no, passport cancelled," Modi said.

Government has revoked Modi's passport in its bid to bring him back here from London. Modi has been eluding investigating agencies for the last six months over allegations of foreign exchange violations in the conduct of the T20 cricket tournament.
