India captain Sourav Ganguly had a poor outing for Glamorgan in the Twenty20 Cup on Friday.

Opening the innings with Mathew Elliot after Gloucestershire won the toss and inserted Glamorgan in, he was out without scoring after facing a solitary delivery.

That wicket fell at five and soon Glamorgan were reeling at 57 for 5 after 10.2 overs following the departure of Elliot (2-33), Ian Thomas (3-33), David Hemp (4-52) and Mike Powell (5-57).

Thanks to an unbeaten 38 off 29 balls by Robert Croft they were able to finish on 128 for 9 in their alloted 20 overs.

Carl Greenidge claimed the wickets of Ganguly, Elliot and Thomas while Mark Hardinges scalped Hemp and Powell.

Croft went on to claim two wickets before Gloucestershire reached the target in 17.1 overs, losing only three wickets.

It was the second consecutive dismal outing for Ganguly, who had impressed with a couple of half centuries in earlier four-day games, having scored only 18 last week as Hampshire thrashed Glamorgan by seven wickets at the Rose Bowl in a National League one-day match.

In another match, Dinesh Mongia could score only seven runs as Leicestershire lost to Derbyshire by seven wickets.

Hylton Ackerman made a vital contribution of 39 as Leicester were all out for 137 in their 20 overs. Ian Hunter claimed three wickets for 32 runs.

After a brief rain interruption and the Duckworth-Lewis calculation, Derbyshire, led by a quickfire, unbeaten 42 off 32 balls from Luke Sutton, easily reached the revised 103-run target.
