The BCCI has turned down Pakistan Cricket Board's request to schedule one of the three ODI matches during their upcoming limited overs series in Mohali as it doesn't conform to the rotation policy practised by the former.

"They have expressed their regrets stating that they have a rotation policy of allocating matches to their affiliated units and under this policy venues for the ODI series against us has already been decided," a PCB official informed.

Pakistan will tour India in late December to play three ODIs and two T20- matches that would signal the resumption of bilateral ties between the two countries for the first time since 2007.

The source said the PCB had requested the BCCI to hold a match at Mohali due to its close proximity even by road to the Wagah border.

"In the past, we have seen that Pakistani fans find it much easier and less cumbersome to travel to Mohali whenever we have played there against India," the source added.

Pakistan and India played the 2011 World Cup semi-final at Mohali and large number of Pakistani cricket fans travelled to the venue for the match.

Pakistan's former Prime Minister, Yousuf Reza Gillani and other government officials had also travelled to Mohali for the match.

The matches against Pakistan will be held in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
