Dhoni backs India's 'inexperienced' bowling attack

Indian captain MS Dhoni [ Images ] is confident that his inexperienced bowling attack will deliver in the four-Test series against Australia [ Images ] which starts on December 26.

Apart from the experienced trio of Zaheer Khan [ Images ], Pragyan Ojha [ Images ] and Ishant Sharma [ Images ], the team includes a relatively inexperienced line-up of Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Vinay Kumar and Abhimanyu Mithun [ Images ].

"The bowlers are talented and of course when you don't have your main bowlers, you need a bit of time. Once the youngsters play more and more games, that's how they get experience at the top level," Dhoni told reporters in a pre-departure press conference in Chennai.

MS Dhoni"So, I think talent wise we are there and it will be a good exposure for the youngsters who are part of the side now touring Australia," he added.  

The first Test will in Melbourne [ Images ] will be followed by matches in Sydney [ Images ] (January 3-7), Perth (January 13-17) and Adelaide (January 24-28).

The series will be followed by two Twenty20 [ Images ] internationals and an ODI tri-series, also featuring Sri Lanka [ Images ].
