Former leg-spinner Shane Warne declared Nathan Hauritz as Australia's No.1 spinner and added that he deserves his spot in the team for the first Ashes Test against England in Brisbane.
"I think Nathan Hauritz is the No.1 spinner, he's got a very good record in Australia and I'm sure he'll get given the first chance, he deserves that," Warne said on Tuesday.
"But if he doesn't do well, someone like [Xavier] Doherty is pushing and Steve Smith is pushing, so there are options and I think that's a good sign for Australian cricket," he added.
"I think for Nathan if he has that mindset, I remember having a chat to him just before Christmas last year at the Boxing Day Test and just being positive saying 'mate, you're bowling well, get some right fields, work with Ricky (Ponting) to get the right fields and bowl to get somebody out'," Warne said.
He added: "If you ask yourself a question, don't ask anything else but 'how am I getting them out', if you ask that, it naturally gives you a positive mindset."
