Unfazed by the happenings after the recent Sydney Test between India and Australia, West Indian umpire Steve Bucknor is ready to extend his contract with the International Cricket Council for another year.

"If I am asked to go on for another year, I would accept, but not beyond," Bucknor said.

"I am scheduled to go to Bangladesh, where they will play South Africa, in another four weeks. I am in reasonably good physical condition," Bucknor was quoted as saying in a Caribbean paper.

"I think I am seeing reasonably well, so I will go on until I think it is necessary. I can't stop anybody's opinion," he added.

But the veteran of more than 100 Tests said he would not continue beyond a year.

"I would not wish to go on beyond another year."

After several umpiring glitches ICC [Images] replaced Bucknor with Billy Bowden of New Zealand [Images] for the Perth Test.
