September 27, 2004 15:42 IST

Medium-pacer Santosh Shinde will replace injured pace bowler Munaf Patel in the Mumbai squad that will take on the visiting Australians in a three-day tour match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

In another change to the Ranji Trophy champions' team, which lost to Rest of India by a big margin in the Irani Cup tie at Mohali last week, Rohit Sharma has been drafted into the squad in place of Onkar Khanwilkar, according to Mumbai Cricket Association joint-secretary Ratnakar Shetty.

Asked whether Sachin Tendulkar, who is down with a tennis elbow, would be playing the match, Shetty replied, "I don't know as yet."

The team: Sairaj Bahutule (capt), Vinod Kambli, Vinayak Mane, Wasim Jaffer, Bhavin Thakkar, Vinit Indulkar, Amol Muzumdar, Vinayak Samant, Ramesh Powar, Avishkar Salvi, Swapnil Hazare, Nilesh Kulkarni, Robin Morris, Santosh Shinde and Rohit Sharma.
