Sehwag scored 192 runs in boundaries Rajneesh Gupta | March 29, 2004 15:21 IST Last Updated: March 29, 2004 16:47 IST Virender Sehwag set a very important record during his epic innings of 309 in the first Test against Pakistan, at Multan on Monday, which nobody seems to have taken notice of. He hit 39 fours and six sixes during his stay at the wicket, which totals to 192 runs in boundaries only!
The previous Indian record in this category was in the name of VVS Laxman, who scored 176 runs in boundaries during that marathon innings of 281 against Australia at Kolkata in 2000-01. The accompanying table lists the instances where a batsman scored 160 or more runs in boundaries only:
Note: Pollock's innings also included a five from overthrow, but is not shown in his run-aggregate from boundaries. 7333: The Latest News on Your Mobile!
