Unbeaten 107 by S S Das

An unbeaten 107 by India discard Shiv Sundar Das enabled East Zone score 229 for 4 on the opening day of the four-day Duleep Trophy match against South Zone in Dharmasala on Saturday.

The opening batsman played a stubborn knock after the early dismissal of Deep Dasgupta (10) to guide East to a handsome total by close of play.

His 259-ball knock was studded with 15 fours.

Arindam Das gave him good company while compiling a fine 55.

Former India spinner Sunil Joshi was the most successful bowler for South Zone, picking two wickets for 75 runs.
