Taibu is the youngest ODI captain

Rajneesh Gupta | April 20, 2004

Tatenda Taibu became the youngest ever player to captain his side in One-Day Internationals when he led Zimbabwe against Sri Lanka in Bulawayo on Tuesday.

Taibu, at 20 years 342 days, chopped Pakistan's Waqar Younis's record quite comfortably. Waqar had led Pakistan for the first time at the age of 21 years, 354 days.

One of the shortest players to play international cricket, Taibu started his ODI career against the West Indies at Harare in June 2001.
