A 45-year-old passenger fell to his death from an air-conditioned Uttar Pradesh roadways bus after he opened its door to spit 'pann' as the vehicle moved through the Purvanchal Expressway. The incident took place on Saturday morning near Bihi village in the Baldirai police station area. The deceased, Ram Jiavan, was a resident of Chinhat area in Lucknow. The bus has been taken to the police station for further investigation and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Four Sukhoi jets flew down from Bareilly and four Mirage 2000s from Gwalior and skimmed the six-lane highway in simulated landings, a first for any road inauguration event.
