Suspected Lashkar-e-Tayiba militant Thadiyantavida Naseer, arrested recently for his alleged involvement in terror attacks in various parts of the country, was brought to Kozhikode from Bengaluru on Friday for questioning in connection with some cases in the state.Naseer and Shafaz were arrested by Bangladesh Rifles personnel and subsequently handed over to the Border Security Force on December 2. They were brought to Bengaluru where they were questioned about serial blasts.
The Union home ministry has started efforts to extradite Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative Thadiyantavida Naseer, who was recently arrested by the Bangladesh police for planning a terror strike on the United States consulate in Dhaka. Naseer, who hails from Kerala, is considered to the 'commander' of the terror outfit's operations in south India.The Bangladesh police arrested Naseer, along with three of his accomplices, after being tipped off about his plans by the FBI.
The arrested Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative Thadiyantavida Naseer has revealed to the investigating officers that the terror outfit has made Hyderabad as its headquarters for all its operations in India and the LeT bosses in Karachi were directly monitoring the base.

The arrest came after the Kerala High Court rejected an anticipatory bail plea moved by Sufiya. Senior Congress leader and convener of the Opposition United Democratic Front P P Thankachan has accused Kerala's ruling Communist Party of India-led Left Democratic Front of trying to shield Thadiyantavida Naseer, the Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative from the state, who was arrested along the India-Bangladesh border recently. Thankachan, former speaker of Kerala assembly, has alleged that the state government is trying to protect the interests of some senior political figures.
Sleuths of the central agencies are tight lipped over the reported arrest of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba's south India commander and one of the most wanted terror operatives from Kerala, Thadiyantavida Naseer.
Naseer is a prized catch since he played a crucial role in the various serial blasts that rocked the country. Moreover, he is also suspected to have guided terror suspect Tawwahur Rana (arrested for being a Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative by the FBI in Chicago) during the latter's visit to Kerala prior to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
The Bangladesh police has handed over top Lashkar operative of South India and self-styled commander of the terror outfit Thadiyantavida Naseer and his brother-in-law Shahbas to India, said sources in intelligence agencies.
