Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday discussed the controversial arrest of alleged militant Syed Liyaqat Shah with Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde. Liyaqat was arrested by the Delhi police while he was returning from Pakistan to surrender before the Jammu and Kashmir police under the rehabilitation policy of the state government for militants.
The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said that it has sought from the Delhi police details regarding the arrest of 40-year-old Syed Liyaqat Shah, whom they have claimed to be a Hizbul Mujahideen operative.
Was Syed Liyaqat Shah, a former militant of Al Barq terror outfit, on his way to surrender before the Kashmir police when the Delhi police claimed to have nabbed him for planning terror strike in the national capital?
