The Board of Control for Cricket in India appointed advocate Sudhir Nanavati as Commissioner for a preliminary inquiry into Harbhajan Singh's alleged slapping of India teammate and Indian Premier League opponent S Sreesanth.
Justice (retd) Sudhir Nanavati, who headed the 'slapgate' inquiry, contradicted S Sreesanth's claim that he was elbowed by Harbhajan Singh in the 2008 IPL incident, saying the pacer was indeed slapped by his then India teammate.
"I have come to submit my report to the BCCI. It's a 14-page report. Whatever conclusion I intended to reach I have reached. It's for the BCCI to take appropriate action," Nanavati said before going in to hand over his report to BCCI's Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty.
The BCCI banned Harbhajan Singh for a further five one-day internationals for slapping teammate S Sreesanth.
BCCI commissioner Sudhir Nanavati said he has all the evidence in the slapping controversy and will submit his report to the BCCI on Monday.
BCCI-appointed Commissioner Sudhir Nanavati, investigating the slapping row between Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth, on Tuesday said he was left stunned after seeing the video footage of the incident.
