Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict upholding the right of Parliament to expel members for misconduct.
Members of opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday stalled proceedings in Lok Sabha over the issue of suicides by farmers across the country, forcing brief adjournment of the House.
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has been left out of the whip issued by CPI-M to its MPs to vote against the government in the trust vote on July 22.
