While Hindus are complaining about the violation of their rights in Pakistan's rural Sindh, they received a harsh blow in Karachi when a pre-partition temple was demolished by a builder despite a Pakistani court hearing a petition seeking a stay on such a move.
Security was stepped up at the Hindu places of worship, including the Shiva temple in Clifton, the Swami Narain temple at the MA Jinnah Road, the Panj Mukhi Hanuman temple in Soldier Bazaar area and the Hanuman temples at Native Jetty, Cantt Station, Frere Market and Jahangir Road, the Daily Times reported.
Three pistol-waving bearded men stormed a 60-year-old temple in Karachi and desecrated the idol of a Hindu deity, leading to fear among the minority community in Pakistan's largest city, a media report said on Tuesday.
