Smita Salaskar, the widow of slain encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar, who fell to terrorists' bullets in the 26/11 attacks, talks to Rediff.com's Prasanna D Zore about the hanging of Ajmal Kasab
Kavita Karkare and Smita Salaskar, the widows of slain Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare and encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar, on Monday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and apprised her of problems they face. Both Karkare and Salaskar died while fighting terrorists during the Mumbai terror attack.
United Force of India -- a citizen initiative to bring the youth of the country on a common platform -- was launched at the Police Gymkhana, Marine Lines in Mumbai. Smita Salaskar, wife of slain Inspector Vijay Salaskar, who fell to terrorists' bullets during the last year terror attack, was the guest of honour.
Family members of the slain policemen, who laid down their lives fighting terrorists on the November 26 last, said the gunman Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab should be hanged without any delay.
Floral tributes were on Wednesday paid to the martyrs who laid down their lives while fighting terrorists on the sixth anniversary of the 26/11 attack.
