Telecom equipment maker Ericsson said on Thursday it had signed a deal to supply a CDMA mobile network to India's Shyam Telecom.
Two regional CDMA players - HFCL in Punjab and Shyam Telecom in Rajasthan - have deposited fee for their GSM spectrum as per the dual technology permitted by the government. HFCL deposited Rs 151.75 crore (Rs 1.51 billion) for Punjab circle, while Shyam gave about Rs 32 crore for the Rajasthan circle.
Both the exchanges advised their trading members to exercise additional due diligence while trading in illiquid stocks either on own account or on behalf of their clients.
Telenor of Norway and Sistema of Russia - on Friday asserted that they would take legal measures.
Shyam's application comes even as real estate major DLF Ltd confirmed on Wednesday that it will apply for telecom licences by Friday, the fourth real estate company to do so in the recent past.
