As part of their mass non-cooperation movement, nearly four lakh pro-Telangana agitators have put their pens down to demand the creation of a separate state.Pro-Telangana parties have already dismissed the Shri Krishna Commission report and demanded that a separate bill for the formation of the state should be presented in the budget session of Parliament.The non-cooperation movement is their latest attempt to turn on the pressure on the central government.
Thursday's crucial meeting on Telangana to discuss the Shri Krishna Commission report is expected to be mired in another controversy with some political parties deciding to boycott it.
Supporters of the Telangana movement are celebrating the results of the by-polls held in Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti has swept the by-polls and pro-Telangana activists claim that the election result is an open message to the Shri Krishna Commission.TRS general secretary Subhash Reddy said, "I am elated.The Shri Krishna Commission doesn't need better proof of the people's sentiments about the issue. This result is an open letter to the commission."
