Samajwadi Party on Thursday accused the Uttar Pradesh government of using dirty drain water to disperse protesting SP workers during the Bharat bandh on Monday.
Firebrand Muslim leader Mohammad Azam Khan on Saturday formally rejoined the Samajwadi Party and attended a meeting of the state office bearers in Lucknow. Azam went to SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence and later reached the party office with Yadav to attend the meeting called to discuss the party's strategy for the 2012 assembly polls. Khan, party sources said, has been offered the post of leader of opposition in the state assembly.
