In spite of an extension of 10 days for the online registration of CAT, 241,000 applications registered this year, against 290,000 last year -- a 17 percent dip. The technical glitches that marred the country's first online CAT have done more than inconvenience students. They have left the convenor, Satish Deodhar, taking the blame and dented the image of premier IIMs.
