A local court on Thursday extended the police custody of bookie Vinod Asrani arrested in connection ith the murder of journalist J Dey till July 13.
A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court in Mumbai on Monday framed charges against 10 accused, including arrested scribe Jigna Vora, in the journalist J Dey murder case of 2011.
A real estate developer, one of the accused held in the 2011 senior journalist Jyotirmoy Dey murder case and who was suspected to be a close aide of underworld don Chhota Rajan, died at a private hospital on Friday following liver failure, police said.

Gangster Chhota Rajan, prime accused in the journalist J Dey murder case, thought that the veteran crime reporter was working for his rival Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan's spi agency Inter-Services Intelligence, according to the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Dey, a veteran crime reporter, had planned a book, titled 'Chindi -- Rags to Riches', wherein he was going to write the stories of 20 gangsters with humble origins.
Vora and Paulson Joseph were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
