These stations will have dormitories especially for lady passengers, will be equipped wih better signage among other facilities. The Indian Railways have already identified 309 stations for the scheme.
The Indian Railways will be the lead partner for Commonwealth Games. Special trains will run during the Commonwealth Games.
The Railway Budget also proposes to increase the facility for press correspondents whereby now they will be entitled to avail 50 per cent concession with family twice a year.

The period of advance booking under the Tatkal Scheme is being reduced from the current 5 days to 2 days. Tatkal tickets will be made available destination-wise instead of from end to end thereby reducing the financial burden on passengers.
