Income Tax dept begins probing Gadkari's companies

After Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the Income Tax department too has launched a probe to trace the source of funding of various firms that invested in Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Gadkari's company Purti Power and Sugar Limited.

The income tax department has detected alleged tax evasion to the tune of Rs 7 crore in the business transactions of Purti group of companies related to former Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Gadkari.
