For now, it does not seem possible that solar-powered aircraft can be used as passenger planes. Only a revolution in technology related to solar panel or battery can help.
The film does not try to be celebral, and makes for an entertaining watch.
The film never really develops into anything beyond what has already been established in the first 15 minutes.
Overall, though, Next makes a hash of the original material, to no discernible purpose. And in the process, it wastes two high-quality talents (Julianne Moore and Nicholas Cage).
