Moulana Naseeruddin, was acquitted along with 12 others by a Gujarat Prevention of Terrorist Activities court on Wednesday in an Inter Services Intelligence backed terror conspiracy case, in a bid to avenge the post-Godhra communal riots in Gujarat.
"The family has made a representation to our officers that women were not allowed to wear 'purdah' and their religious sentiments were hurt by this," Hyderabad Police Commissioner B Prasad Rao told rediff.com when asked about the complaints of Moulana Naseeruddin's wife Tasneem Fatima that about 50 policemen in plainclothes had barged in to her home when no male member.

Moulana Naseeruddin, a popular cleric, and 13 other youth were arrested by the Gujarat Police in 2003-2004 and lodged in the Sabarmati jail for almost six years, as the trial in POTA court dragged on.
While Moulana Naseeruddin himself is in Ahmedabad jail and undergoing trial on a criminal conspiracy case in Gujarat, another of his sons Mohammd Raziuddin Nasir is in Belgam jail in Karnataka for the last six months on the suspicion of his links with terrorist activities.
