Niagara Falls has turned into a spectacular winter wonderland amid a brutal winter storm that has swept over a vast swath of the United States. Temperatures dropped to as low as -2F in Niagara, New York state, as tourists observed stunning displays of ice clinging on at the top of the waterfall. Large chunks of ice could be seen flowing over the tremendous volume of water, with the mist forming a beautiful rainbow. Breathtaking images show mounds of untouched snow and ice forming along the banks of the falls and river, creating a stunning wintry scene.

The death toll from a rare pre-winter snowstorm has risen to 10.
