Under the partnership, IOC's rural petrol pump outlets -- Kisan Seva Kendras -- will act as the bank's Business Correspondents, HDFC Bank said in a statement.
IOC's marketing director GC Daga said that the company is planning to open 1,000 rural outlets with Kisan Seva Kendras or farmer service centres attached to them.
Indian Oil till last month has automated more than 6,200 retail outlets and is planning to automate 7,500 more in the current fiscal across the country.
